Cookies!

Problem:

Solution:

Let $ x $ be the number of cookies the bakeshop creates.

$ x \times \frac{25}{100} = 625 $

We can solve this equation by first make the fraction simpler by canceling 25 with 100, leaving

$ x \times \frac{1}{4} = 625 $

Then it is obvious that multiply two sides by 4 will give the answer we want

$ x \times \frac{1}{4} \times 4= 625 \times 4 $
$ x = 2500 $

Therefore you planned to produce 2,500 cookies that day!
